This year has zipped right on by! I have to chuckle, because I have been saying that for what seems the last 15-20 years. This year has gone at a particularly fast rate for me. My schedule has simply been full to the point where hours seem like minutes. At my full-time job away from home, I'll walk in the door at 9 and by the time I look up again to actually check and see what time it is, it'll be noon or 4 or 5PM. Happens all the time. LOL! I'm grateful for full days while at the same time I am looking to add more balance to my life.

Next weekend I'm in DC at The Black Expo. It's my first year there. I'm looking forward to it. I LOVE people! Simply love meeting people and talking with folks! An expo is RIGHT up my alley!! Earlier in the year I attended the National African American Cultural Expo in Philadelphia. Had a blast! Made excellent contacts and met the most wonderful people.

This was a traveling year for me. I went out of town more than ever in regards to my writing career. I plan to do more traveling next year and take my son with me. I enjoy hanging out with him and realize how quickly children grow up.

Off and on, sometimes harder than others, I continue to miss my Grandma, my great-grandma and my mom -- especially during the holidays. My grandma was my greatest cheerleader as are most folks grandmas. Ain't nothing like Grandma! Mine made her transition on December 3 of last year. When you love somebody it's never enough time to get used to missing them. I've learned to accept that. I don't focus on, but I do miss her.

For those of you heading home for the holidays - happy and safe travels! Take your time getting to your destination! We want you back safe and sound! Enjoy the company of good friends (even if you're alone - enjoy YOU!). I've spent holidays away from family many, many times. You can do it and still reflect on the many things you have to be grateful for and enjoy the day.

Much love, happiness, hope and cheer to you all!! And thanks again and again to those who have supported me and my books! I am truly grateful! -- Denise

These last couple of days have been a real doozy for me! One event after another - trying situations. The Creator must want me to grow-grow-grow! I know whenever I go through something that feels like it's pressing me too much I end up making a huge growth spurt internally. Next week I am on vacation from work and so looking forward to it. To those of you from the U.S. - have a happy and most blessed Labor Day weekend. Studies report that Americans are working longer hours, etc. We should definitely kick back and enjoy Labor Day!! Me. I'm all for a 4-day work week and see that happening within my lifetime. I also see more folks working from home as technology advances more and more and more. One day I think we'll be able to call into office meetings right from home and digitally be able to see everyone at the meeting on a screen (like characters on TV).

I have travelled more this year to get my writing out than any other time in my life. I LOVE meeting readers! I cannot say that enough!! Folks who support me are the most warm and loving people! I thank you all from the core of my heart.

Before the summer closes out I'd like to take my son and some of his friends to Six Flags. I get a discount if I take a pass from the company I work with. I heard the prices for Six Flags have gone up. I know the last time I went I think I spent about $100 to get 3 folks in. And it was hot! Whew! I was cooking that day!

I'm gonna run. I gotta get over to this page and write more. To those of you who write - keep at it! Thanks to you all. Follow your dreams! Abundant blessings! -- Denise
