Historically during war, women were overlooked or forgotten. They didn't plan strategies, volunteer for the draft, or sacrifice themselves on the battlefield. Instead, they stayed behind to be bombed, raped, imprisoned, and terrorized. "AFTER ALL THE TEARS: The Grete Hettenhausen Story" is the memorable true tale of one overlooked, forgotten woman's courage and determination during WWII and the Russian occupation of East Germany. www.ebooks2go.com Click here: (if you see HTML, just copy the address and paste into your browser) AFTER ALL THE TEARS

You have a wonderful site here. Keep up the excellent work. If I may add something for the other readers of your guestbook that may be interested. Lori Herter, This is a name we haven't heard for along time. All of her books are out of print. And I know from an interview from her that she wants to be published again. I am going to start a group on Yahoo called the Lori Herter Fan Club. (As soon as Yahoo gets some of it's bugs worked out.) I want to start a letter campaign to publishers and editors both email and snail mail. I would like to see her vampire series republished. I think it would bring a whole new following of fans. But I also want to see new work from her. If anyone is interested in helping with this and joining her on line Fan Club/ Chat Group, e-mail me privately with Lori Herter in the subject line. Thank you. Lisa Tiggedy2@aol.com

I am dreaming of becoming an author of children's books and who knows, maybe one day something else. I fear rejection due to my writing being very personal, like artwork is to some. I hope to venture out and send that first manuscript to a receptive publisher and have a success story to tell. I think that your site is great and very encouraging. I hope to learn something from it and perhaps gain strength through entering some of the contests. Thank You. Tricia

She's been writing about her childhood,in the 30's or 40's. I hope that you visit the lounge sometime. She made me really smile yesterday with the excerpt about her dad bringing home the so-called bacon! veee! (or X*). P.S.The lounge got zapped recently,so you won't see any of my writing much.

Hello Portia ~ Nice to meet you. I was referred to your site by a friend who thinks I should apply for some awards, but instead have found a possible new friend! I've only just begun to read about you and your life - but I can certainly identify with your ups and downs, as a full-time working woman. Though I have no human children, I am the "mom" to a husband, two collie dogs and an elderly but very demanding female feline named Isabelle! They, and my webtv, keep me very busy indeed. I am a book lover, a music lover and especially an animal lover, not to mention an England lover, garden and bird lover, and generally all around nauseatingly good person. A few bad traits include spending too much time on my web site, but I guess for that I may be forgiven in the end. Portia will be one of my priorities to read soon. Good luck to you and your son!

Hi, Denise- Nice site! I want to read your book! I read the excerpts. I read Portia, Girlfriends and from the short story. I thikn the short story should end with the bad guy being busted down by the man's wife who was thrown in the ground. The one who went intot he basement with his dog. I also read your writer's life. How often do you update that? Sounds like you're as busy as I am! I wish you the very, very best! Cheryl

Hello Sis.. just received my copy of "Portia" today and I could not get past the Acknowledgements Page.... Just had to send this note.. I was also raised by my father along with my sister and brothers... when our mother died of breast cancer Dec. 10, 1967... My father kept the faith... never remarried and managed to send all his children to college... so sista girl I know what you mean when you call your father your "hero"...God continues to bless me daily... and I enjoy reaping the benefits which only he can provide...Keep the faith.. and continue to be blessed...

Hi, Denise! I heard you on the radio on WIMG. You did a good job! I just bought a new computer and came in to check out your web page. I wanted to know if you're going to be on WIMG again and if you are - when? Dr. Watson is very good on Woman to Woman. wish I could come on there and talk with her. I'm gonna buy your book! I hope the African American community really supports you! I wish you nothing but the very best! T-

Hi, Today I attended a Teen Empowerment Conference in Philadelphia. Nearly 20 businesswomen volunteered to attend the event sponsored by Prudential Foundation (the folks behind Prudential Insurance and their many other business endeavors) and Independent Means, Inc. I met businesswomen from all walks of life - all persistent, all empowered with the spirit of belief, creativity and HUGE dreams! My sisters! As this guestbook opens and you begin to share pages of your own lives here, I truly encourage you to go after your dreams. Soar!! With Love, Denise Turney Author of the New novel PORTIA
