Love Has Many Faces, Portia, Spiral and Long Walk Up's (Denise's NEW BOOK!) author, Denise Turney, has 34 years of writing experience
to her credit. Denise was 10 years old and reading a book of poetry by Chicago's poet laureate, Gwendolyn Brooks, when the Creator made plain to Denise that she was a writer. Denise's younger sister, Adrianne, is the one who brought the book of poetry by Gwendolyn Brooks home from the school library at Flennigan Elementary in Knoxville, Tennessee. Oddly enough, Adrianne never read the book of poetry. She simply ran upstairs and told Denise, "Look what I found at the school library," then she left the bedroom Denise and she shared as children. The book lay on the bed. After a few minutes, Denise picked the book of poetry up. She started to read. The characters leaped off the pages. Denise stopped reading after awhile. A powerful feeling came over her. Denise had a spiritual/inner knowing at that very second. It was that day that Denise Turney took hold of her Creator given gift. This year marks Denise Turney's 34th year as a writer.
Denise has truly been blessed to see the fruit of her use and sharpening of her God given gift. Readers have been encouraged to gain the victory over major illnesses. Readers have been inspired to go after their dreams. Readers have been encouraged to let go of division, racism and begin to love themselves and others. One reader decided to forgive after reading Denise's book Spiral. Hearing from readers about how they enjoyed, were entertained by and made loving changes in their own lives while or after reading one of her books, is one of Denise's greatest rewards for writing. Currently, Denise is working with the second largest educational publisher to create and write a book series for ESL students and teachers. For Denise writing has been an unspeakable blessing. Denise truly thanks our Creator for this awesome gift and for continuing to work with her to sharpen her craft and add goodness to people's lives.

YOU are VERY important to Denise! She loves to hear from visitors to the site.
Denise is a woman who believes that the greatest person YOU will ever know is YOU. Denise believes that our lack of truly knowing who we are is a key to our discomfort and that only our Creator (the very source that created us) truly can tell and show us who we are. It is therefore that Denise believes that the greatest relationship or connection that we will ever have (and that nothing can take the place of) is our relationship or connection with our Creator, with our eternal inner, spiritual selves and with one another and all living beings. It all connects and flows in balance with LOVE.
Denise encourages you to treat yourself with as much respect, love and tenderness
as you would your very best friend. Her favorite scriptures are: "he persevered
because he saw him who is invisible." -- Hebrews 11:27b (NIV) , "You need to persevere
so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."
-- Hebrews 10:36 (NIV) and Psalm 23. Denise Turney truly knows that without God she could do nothing. Denise Turney is doing great things!
